10 detained in minor girl’s sexual assault, murder case

Police detained 10 suspects in the case of abduction, rape and murder of a minor girl in Quaidabad.

According to details, the body of a missing 7-year-old girl was found on November 18 in the area of Quaidabad.

As per police, the minor girl went missing from outside her residence in Muslimabad on November 16. Police surgeon Dr Samia said that the girl was murdered after being raped. The Quaidabad police registered a case of kidnapping, rape and murder on the complaint of deceased's father Maqbool Khan.

SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur said that soon after the incident, 10 suspects have been detained from around the house of the deceased girl. He said that DNA tests of detained suspects will be conducted while the evidences collected from the crime scene have also been sent for the lab test.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Shehla Raza expressed her condolences to the parents and relatives of the slain girl. "I have come to know that the police did not conduct any investigation after the disappearance of the girl, due to which such a big tragedy took place," she said.

Member Coordination Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan and Member National Assembly Kishwar Zahra strongly condemned the incident. She said that the occurrence of such incidents all over the country and especially in Karachi is a slap on the face of law enforcement agencies and rulers.

Zahra further said that the MQM Pakistan demands the Sindh's Chief Minister and the IG Sindh to arrest the accused as soon as possible.
