Only MQM fought for Karachi rights: Izhar

More than 17 local government departments and civil institutions are not under the Mayor

KARACHI:

The Deputy Convener of MQM-P, Khwaja Izharul Hasan said that no political party except for MQM that fought the case of rights of Karachi in the Supreme Court.

Talking to media at party's central office in Bahadurabad he said, "There are 47,000 people in the voter lists who are more than 147-year-old. Those people will not be seen voting, but their votes will be cast."

He said, more than 17 local government departments and civil institutions are not under the Mayor. After the struggle of four years, the Supreme Court gives a verdict but the provincial court refuses to accept it. The decision of the Supreme Court in the Karachi riot case is in front of everyone.

He said that unfortunately, the offices of the MQM were demolished and looted on the orders of former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chauhdari but when we won the case regarding local government in the time of the Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed.
