Karachi records worst air quality

City was marked as world's most polluted city with 195 particulate metres of air pollution

KARACHI:

The air of Karachi continues to be unhealthy, as per the Air Quality Index (AQI).

Reportedly, the city was marked as world's most polluted city with 195 particulate metres of air pollution, while Lahore was ranked as fifth on the list.

According to the AQI, Calcutta, India, was ranked second on the list with 188 particulate metres, followed by Delhi, while Dhaka, Bangladesh, came in fourth on the list of most polluted cities with 174 particle meters.

The classification states that pollution between levels 151 and 200 is harmful to health, pollution between levels 201 and 300 is severely detrimental to health, whereas pollution beyond level 301 indicates dangerous if inhaled.
