Suspected robber arrested in DHA
Police arrested suspected robbers in separate encounters in various areas of the city during separate encounters.
A squad of Defence police station while on patrol in DHA Phase VII saw two suspicious persons on motorcycle. Police signaled the suspects to stop but they fled.
The police squad chased the suspects who opened fire, on which police returned fire injuring one of the suspects. The other suspect managed to flee.
The injured suspect, Hassan Ullah, 24, was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) under the custody of the police. The police said that Hassan Ullah was involved in several street crimes.
Meanwhile, Aziz Bhatti police arrested two alleged robbers after an exchange of fire near Gilani Railway Station of Gulshan-e-Iqbal and recovered weapons from them. The two suspects were identified as 36-year-old Farrukh Shah and 20-year-old Anees-ul-Rehman. A 30-bore pistol, three mobile phones, cash and a motorcycle were recovered from the robbers.
Separately, Momin Abad police arrested Bilal, 26, Irfan Raza,30, and Ikhlaq Muuraza, 30, in injured condition near Jannatul Baqi Graveyard in Orangi Town.
The police said that two pistols, three cell phones, cash and other valuables were recovered from them.
Moreover, the Orangi Town police arrested two other suspected robbers after an alleged police encounter near Allah Wala College. The police recovered two pistols, mobile phones, cash and a motorcycle from the arrested robbers, identified as M Shahbaz, 32, and Haroon, 35.
The suspects confessed their involvement in several street crimes. Police said M Shahnawaz and Haroon were escaping from the scene after robbing a citizen near Farooq Colony when the patrolling police reached the spot and arrested them while their accomplices managed.
