GUJRAT:

Rescue workers found bodies of a man and two young girls in Pyara Doga cemetery in Tehsil Kharian.

They also found an eight-year-old girl along with the bodies. The girl was found to be alive but in a critical condition. Galiana Police Station was immediately informed about the incident.

Police shifted eight-year-old Haniya to the hospital and started their investigation.

The deceased were identified as 40-year-old Nasir Shehzad and his daughters, 11-year-old Ayesha and 10-year-old Abiha.

His wife Sadia Bibi had gone back to her father’s home two months ago due to domestic disputes.

The police said that they suspected Nasir Shahzad gave the poisonous juice to his daughters and then he drank it himself.

Sadia Bibi, the widow of Nasir Shahzad, said she had been married to Nasir 12 years ago, but theirs was not a happy marriage, and it had been marred by conflicts between the couple.

These conflicts took an ugly turn two months ago when Sadia Bibi decided that enough was enough, and she left her husband’s house and went to her father’s house with her youngest daughter, Hureen Noor.

She stated that her husband ended his and their daughters’ lives by first feeding the children with poison and then consuming it himself.

Neighbours of the deceased, Nasir Shahzad, said that Nasir used to torture his wife, but his relatives mediated reconciliation between the couple, and Sadia Bibi returned to live with her husband. However, Nasir Shahzad could not control his temper and beat up his wife over some household matter. Sadia Bibi yet again went back to live at her father’s house.

Nasir begged his wife to come back a few days ago, but she not only refused to go with him, but also sent him a notice for divorce.

After complying with the notice, he went down to the graveyard along with his daughters.
