Young milk-seller killed in road mishap

Eyewitnesses said that Saif was on his way to supply milk when a speeding car bumped into his motorcycle

A young milk-seller was killed when a speeding car rammed into his motorcycle in Baldia Town on Thursday. Edhi volunteers shifted the body in their ambulance to the Civil Hospital where, according to them, the deceased was identified as 23-year-old Muhammad Saif, son of Muhammad Sadiq.

Eyewitnesses said that Saif was on his way to supply milk when a speeding car bumped into his motorcycle. As a result, he died on the spot while huge drums containing milk also rolled over, spilling all the milk on the road.

Meanwhile, a teenage girl died in a traffic accident near Diya Hotel in Gulshan-e-Hadeed. Edhi volunteers identified the deceased as 15-year-old Mehak, resident of Bilal Colony, Korangi. She was riding pillion with her uncle on a motorcycle and both were going home in Somar Goth, Steel Town. She fell off the motorcycle and a trailer coming from behind crushed her.

The driver fled the scene, leaving behind his trailer which was impounded by police. Rescuers said that the victim's uncle and another child on the motorcycle remained unharmed in the accident. The family refused to pursue legal action and took away the body for funeral.

Separately, two employees of a private TV channel were injured in a collision between a vehicle and a dumper truck in North Karachi. They were identified as Qamar Mastoi and Sajjad Hussain. The dumper driver fled the scene after the crash.

In yet another incident, two officers of North Nazimabad police station, who were on a patrol on a motorcycle, were injured when a speeding car him their two-wheeler. Constable Farhan, son of Sarfraz, and Zaheer Baloch, son of Deen Muhammad Baloch, were injured near Asghar Ali Khan Ground, in North Nazimabad, Block A, on the night between Wednesday and Thursday.
