Improving your relationship with Allah is a constant but necessary effort: Rabia Butt

Model-turned-actor Rabia Butt, who has been transparent about her relationship with God and religion in the past, has now commented on her equation with Allah again and hoped to mend it on a deeper level than before.

The statement moved Butt to a point where she wanted to share her two cents on not idolising your relationship with God but allowing fluctuations in it just like we do in our other relationships. “Can't wait to get back on the same level with Allah if not more than before. Like all other relationships, this also has its ups and downs,” she began her note.

“Somedays we stand on this side of the line, the line of His closer people and other days, on the other side of the line, the line of his lesser close. And each day, you have to juggle between these two lines. Like all other relationships, this also requires constant work but this relationship has bonus star points because here the divinity knows the deep down inside you, knows your intent, and knows what you have concealed in your heartbeats even if the lips are sealed,” she added.

She went on to add how it can go from a blessing to a nightmare real quick if your intent is misguided. “This can become the biggest blessing or can turn into your biggest nightmare if you are not true in your heart or if there’s khot in your niyat. One cannot deceive Him. Standing in the line is important, the real problem will occur the day you’re not standing in any line,” she concluded.

In 2019, the Hijrat actor commented on how God is the most forgiving and that it’s only us humans that publicly like to expose the flaws and sins of others around us. This was in response to trolls commenting on her 'objectionable' pictures that “were the cause of spoiling people's Roza.”

"I've seen some of my pictures circulating on social media. I can't understand the problem." She added, "I have never claimed that I'm a very religious person or a firm believer. Or enlighten me if I have ever asserted anything of the sort? One thing I have vowed is that I learn from my mistakes."

She concluded, "Our Lord is so gracious. He's not the one who points out the mistakes of his creation but guides them toward a better way. It is us humans who keep reminding others of their flaws."
