Ushna Shah, who has often shared her two cents on matters close to her, recently commented some insight on the entertainment industry. The actor took to Twitter and commented about how many in showbiz are 'frauds and many things are an illusion.'

"Can I tell you guys an industry secret?" Shah shared on the micro-blogging website. "Most people in it are frauds. Most things are an illusion. When there is a lot of hype there is often (not always) less talent to back it up. It’s smoke and mirrors. It’s PR. It’s set narratives. The crowd follows where it’s strategically led."

Elaborating on the same, the Habs actor added, "This was just a random breakfast epiphany that fraud isn’t just a thing, it’s almost everything and it’s seeped into all forms of show-business: be it films, TV, “humanitarian work”, sports. The ratio of scams to authenticity is sad and a bit demoralising."

Many shared their own two cents on the matter. "Thank you for stating the obvious because pr is exceptionally bad. Also, you forgot to add the industry thinks of the audience as empty tins cans and hence feeds them trash content."

Another added, "Not sure if it's a secret anymore. The rate at which many of them are being exposed as sexual predators and enablers is for all to see now!"

One user compared the state of our showbiz to Pakistani politics as well. "Can I tell you guys a political secret? Most people in it are frauds. Most things are an illusion. When there is a lot of hype there is often (always) less competence to back it up. It’s smoke and mirrors. It’s PR. It’s set narratives. The crowd follows where it’s strategically led."

Last year, the actor took to Twitter to address the people censuring her profession, as well as the media industry. The Bashar Momin actor believes that anyone of the opinion that acting as a profession is below them or believes that actors promote “vulgarity” should not follow drama serials or the associated actors’ social media accounts.

Channelling the rage, the 31-year-old actor tweeted, “Every Pakistani with morals and ethics who finds acting and actors inferior, who thinks we spread ‘fahashi’ (vulgarity) should promptly get rid of their TV (or any channel that shows content that isn’t preaching Islam) and get off social media immediately!”

She further called out those who feel the need to constantly school everyone, asking them to be more respectful and mindful about their comments. “Show your gherat (self-respect) please,” wrote Ushna.
