Suspected mugger arrested after shoot-out

Fire exchange took place in which an accomplice of the arrested mugger also managed to flee

KARACHI:

A suspected mugger was arrested in an injured condition after a shoot-out with police in Malir area on the night between Friday and Saturday.

The fire exchange took place in the limits of Saudabad police station in which an accomplice of the arrested mugger also managed to flee. According to details, a police patrol signaled a motorcyclist with another man riding pillion to stop, but they instead opened fire and tried to flee. The injured was identified as Wahaj Ali.

One handgun, seven stolen mobile phones, 10 identity cards, ATM cards, 20 SIM cards, and 11 stolen wallets were recovered from his possession. Apparently, the handgun belongs to a government official.
