Suspects wanted in the murder of a Saudi citizen and some other cases were killed in an alleged police encounter.
Their bodies were shifted to the hospital where a heavy police force was deployed. Cases of police encounter were registered in two police stations.
Gujranwala police had taken four alleged bandits into custody on Wednesday, and they were taking them to Dewan Road and Daraj when, according to the FIRs and acting CPO Nasir Siyal, accomplices of the bandits attacked the police van.
Police personnel barely managed to save their lives and opened retaliatory fire.
Meanwhile, the alleged robbers escaped from the police van with their four accomplices.
The police fired to prevent the accused from escaping in which two alleged robbers were killed while two others escaped with their accomplices by taking advantage of the dark.
When the police mounted a chase, bodies of the two alleged robbers were found in fields near Darajke area of Sadar Kamonki Police Station.
