The Sindh High Court has allowed shopkeepers to take out merchandise from sealed scrap shops in Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
The court heard petitions filed against the notice of Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) and DHA administration regarding vacating scrap shops in different DHA areas. The court ordered the CBC to de-seal the shops so that shopkeepers can take out merchandise.
Raja Mansoor Advocate stated that the CBC had sealed dozens of scrap shops in Nishat Commercial, Ittehad Commercial and Bukhari Commercial areas.
The petitioners' lawyers argued that the shopkeepers should be allowed to remove the goods. The court granted the permission and ordered compilation of records of the goods taken out from the shops.
No judge appointed for Durrani's case
The accountability court adjourned the hearing of a reference pertaining to assets beyond means against Speaker Sindh Assembly, Agha Siraj Durrani and others without any proceedings. Durrani and other appeared before the court.
After the retirement of judge, new judge could not be appointed. The court adjourned hearing till October 26 without any proceeding.
Later, in an informal conversation after the hearing, Agha Siraj Durrani said that the appointment of Sindh governor has been done according to the constitution. The appointment of a new governor is the prerogative of the federal government.
