After the surprise announcement by Google regarding Stadia's imminent shutdown, popular French game publisher Ubisoft said it will allow users to transfer their purchased titles on Stadia to PC.

The Verge reported that Ubisoft is working on bringing Stadia titles to PC through Ubisoft Connect. Ubisoft senior corporate communications manager Jessica Roache said that the company will share more details about its Ubisoft Connect transfer and impact on Ubisoft+ subscribers soon.

Players may be required to upgrade their PC hardware to play the games once they've been transferred from Stadia. It isn't clear yet if a game's progress and saves will be transferred to a PC as well.

Google has already shut down purchases on its Stadia and Google Store, with a promise to refund all purchased software back to users. While Stadia is closing on January 18, 2023, Ubisoft is continuing its investment in cloud gaming pushing "boundaries on bringing amazing experiences to our players, wherever they are".
