Man arrested for robbery identifies himself as ‘Quaid Azam’

Two suspects brutally tortured by citizen still unconscious at hospital

KARACHI:

The cops of Aziz Bahtti police station were dumbfounded when the suspect they were holding at gunpoint said his name was Quaid Azam.

A squad of Aziz Bhatti police station intercepted two suspects robbing a citizen in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. The suspects identified as Masood Ahmed and Quaid Azam were armed and riding a stolen bike. Two other accomplices managed to escape from the spot, police said.

Separately, Nazimabad police arrested two suspected robbers after an encounter near the nullah behind Paposh Nagar and recovered weapons and a stolen motorcycle from them.

Chheepa Ambulance took the injured suspects Jahanzeb Yamin, 30, and Usman Qureshi, 25, to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in police custody.

Police recovered a 30-bore pistol, mobile phones, cash and a stolen motorcycle from the accused. The accused had been involved in other serious crimes, including street crime.

People arrested two robbers who were caught and tortured by the citizens in the Buffer Zone area.

In this regard, SHO Taimuriya Police Station Rasheed Lodhi said that citizens had handed over two robbers in critical condition. The suspects were lying unconscious at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Lodhi said.
