Police say the incident appears to be a suicide case

A property dealer was found dead with a bullet to his head on the mezzanine floor of a building in the Phase VII area of Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

The bloodied body of 40-year-old Sohail Ahmed was found in a seat in a room at his workplace with a bullet to the head and his licenced 9mm pistol in his hand, police said.

SSP South Asad Raza said that the initial investigation, evidence and CCTV footage, the incident appears to be suicide. However, police were investigating the matter further.

Upon receiving the information about the incident, police and the family members of the deceased reached the spot. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities.

Uncle of the deceased told the police that his nephew was under great mental stress.

Sohail had bought a property in partnership with two other investors a few years ago in DHA Phase 1.

He said that the land mafia occupied the property and was threatening Sohail on phone. The mobile number was from Balochistan.
