Chehlum observed under tight security

42,000 officers, personnel and volunteers deployed across Punjab

LAHORE:

Strict security arrangements were made for mourning processions and majalis on the occasion of Imam Hussain’s (RA) Chehlum across the province.

Thousands of officers and volunteers were put on high alert to protect processions and majalis.

A total of 301 processions and 530 majalis were organised across the province, for the security of which over 42,000 officers, personnel and volunteers were deployed.

Four-layered security was provided as per SOPs to sensitive processions and majalis in all districts, while security was monitored from the control room at the Central Police Office.

Over 10,000 officials and volunteers were deployed for the security of processions and majalis in Lahore.
