Police save 'robbers' from lynching mob

Tired from being mugged, injured and killed by gun-toting robbers, the citizens of the metropolis have taken upon themselves to eliminate the 'threat' whenever they get the chance.
During the week, people have killed at least five suspected robbers in separate incidents. However, on Friday, four alleged muggers were lucky to have police to rescue them.
Korangi police station Inspector Aamir Azam said that two suspects were robbing a citizen at gunpoint on Friday when he, putting his life in danger, shouted for help and grappled one of the accused.
Soon people nearby over powered the suspect, while others chased and caught his accomplice.
SHO said that the citizens severely tortured both the accused and tore their clothes. As soon as the incident was reported on police helpline 15, a squad reached the spot and shifted the critically injured robbers to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
Azam said the suspects were still unconscious and they do not know their identity.
Police arrest two injured 'robbers'
Meanwhile, across the city in the Nagan Chowrangi area, people pounced on two suspects injured by police.
Police have arrested two suspects in injured condition after an exchange of fire near the Nagan Chowrangi area. The CCTV footage of the incident also went viral on social media.
SHO New Karachi police station Inspector Naseem Kamal said that on Friday morning, a police squad signaled two men going on a bike to stop for checking.
Still, the suspects tried to run away by firing at the police officers. However, after an exchange of fire, the police officers arrested both suspects in injured condition and recovered weapons and a motorcycle from their possession. Meanwhile, citizens also gathered on the spot, and they also tortured the two robbers. The CCTV footage of the incident also surfaced in which the police officers can be seen chasing after the accused, and both are firing at each other. Fortunately, the firing hurt no civilians.
