VEHARI:

Five people allegedly gang-raped a newly-married woman in front of her husband in Vehari, police said.

They said they have registered a case and arrested one person and carrying out raids for others.

Mohammad Tahir, a resident of Kot Radha Kishan Patoki, Kasur district, told the police that he, along with his wife, went to his friend Salman Mughal’s resident last night where Salman allegedly told him that the person whom he had contacted to help them find a house for the couple was not in the city. “He offered me to spend the night at his friend’s house,” and the person who was supposed to help them find a house would come tomorrow to take him to the house, Mohammad Tahir stated.

He told the police said that as he was going to Ali Town along with his wife from 45 WB, two persons, riding on two motorcycles, allegedly stopped them and tied him up with one of the bikes and started torturing him.

Mohammad Tahir told the police that they also allegedly gang-raped his wife in front of him in a sorghum field.

Tahir said that he begged and pleaded with the accused, but the accused did not listen to him and the Saddar police also reached four hours late. The police had registered a case number 645 under Sections 365B and 376(I).
