Nine more illegal Afghan immigrants taken into custody

Afghan currency worth Rs20,000 has also been recovered from the possession of accused

Mochko police have arrested nine Afghans, who entered Pakistan illegally, during different operations carried out in the city.

SHO Mochko Inspector Shahid Chaudhry told that the accused came to Karachi through Hub River Road.

The accused include Barat Khan, Amir Muhammad, Syed Muhammad, Nazar Muhammad, Ala-ud-din, Bakht Muhammad, Bagh Muhammad, Akhtar and Hameedullah.

Afghan currency worth Rs20,000 has also been recovered from the possession of accused. Cases have been registered against them and further investigation has been initiated.

Earlier, police on Wednesday carried out raids in different parts of the metropolis and took into custody 31 Afghans staying in Karachi illegally.

SSP-East Syed Abdul Rahim Sherazi said that 13 Afghans were arrested from Gulistan-e-Jauhar, 14 in Sohrab Goth and four within the remit of the SITE-Superhighway police station.
