The Chief Minister Task Force established under the leadership of the provincial secretary energy and power for the prevention of illegal use of electricity across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and the recovery of dues from electricity consumers has so far recovered Rs3,0364,809 in a short period of two months.
According to data released by the office of Chairman Chief Minister Task Force, Secretary Energy and Power Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, the Chief Minister Task Force with the help of PESCO recovered this amount in a campaign starting from July 18.
It was badly hampered by the devastating floods but the crackdown continued against illegal consumers and kunda mafia.
During the grand operation across the province, so far a record amount has been recovered and 1,870 kunda or illegal connections have been removed, 90 people have been arrested while stealing electricity red-handed and cases of electricity theft have been registered against 789 people.
