Two held for allegedly molesting children

HARIPUR:

Police arrested two suspects on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in molesting children in Khanpur.

The first incident was reported in Khanpur police station by a 16-year-old boy and a resident of Bandi Munim. According to a police report, the victim was sexually assaulted by Gulistan Alamgir. The police have registered a case against him under section 377/506/53CPA.

Similarly, the second incident took place in Chowki Pind Munim within the limits of Khanpur police station in which a 13-year-old boy, a resident of Upper Dirhal Pind Munim lodged a report. According to the report, Jamshed Shah Nazar, a resident of Tanalo Mohra took the victim from Pind Munim Bazar on a motorcycle to Jab Soka and forcibly tried to abuse him.

According to the police complaint, the perpetrator sexually assaulted the victim several times in the past. In the current incident, the victim's brother reached the spot and saved his life. At the same time, two brothers of the accused came and injured his brother Taufiq with sticks.

On the report of the plaintiff, the police filed a case against the accused under sections 377/511/53CPA/337.

Taking notice of the incident, DPO Haripur issued orders to SDPO Khanpur Circle and SHO Khanpur to arrest the suspects as soon as possible.

Acting on the orders, the police arrested the accused in a timely manner.

The investigation of the arrested accused is going on. Sources said that the suspects have also made startling revelations during the course of investigation.

The accused have been found involved in the heinous acts several times in the past.

Man found dead

A man believed to be in his 30s was found dead near Ghazi bus stand on Tuesday.

Police said that the deceased was identified as Akram Miskeen and he was mentally-challenged. He had gone missing from Ghazi Market around three days ago, they said, adding that there were no visible signs of torture on his body.

Ghazi Police registered a case and shifted the body to Headquarters Hospital Ghazi for post-mortem. Later, it was handed over to the heirs for burial.
