Long-running feud claims two more lives
Two brothers were killed separately as a result of what police described as a long-running blood feud between two rival groups.
According to SHO Amir Abbas Chadhar, there had been an enmity between Rana Ghaffar and Rana Luqman groups over a land dispute.
Many people from both the groups have been killed over this rivalry over the years.
Police said that in the latest incident on Sunday, suspects allegedly belonging to Rana Ghafar group opened fire on Rana Imran, who was an assistant education officer, when he had been on his way to drop off his children at their school.
Rana Imran kept driving to save himself but the accused chased him and shot him dead. Immediately after this murder, the accused opened fire on Basharat Ali, a brother of Rana Imran, while he had been opening his shop. He, too, died on the spot.
According to police, the two brothers were killed within a gap of 20 minutes.
Police said that a year ago, Rana Ghafar group took Rana Luqman to his camp where they first stabbed him and then shot him dead.
According to the police, there was a truce between the two parties over that murder, but now Rana Ghafar group ended the truce and allegedly killed the two brothers.
