The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sardar Faisal Amin Gandapur has said that all resources are being effectively utilised to help the flood victims as well as restore the damaged infrastructure in the province, especially Dera Ismail Khan.

He assured that the provincial government would also rehabilitate each and every affected person in the area and funds are being made available by the K-P Finance Department on a war footing.

He said this during a ceremony organized for the distribution of relief items among the flood victims at different relief camps in Kulachi.

On this occasion food packages were handed out to more than 1,000 flood-affected families of Kulachi tehsil.

Former Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Additional Deputy Commissioner DI Khan Mohammad Iqbal Khan Wazir, and Assistant Commissioner Kulachi Ahad Yusuf were also present on the occasion.

Gandapur said that the southern districts of the province were not given attention in the past, leaving these areas backward.

However, he said the present K-P government is sincerely engaged in carrying out development works as well as working hard for the welfare of the people in these backward and neglected districts so the deprivation of the people in these districts can be addressed.

The minister acknowledged the fact that there has been a lot of damage in DI Khan due to the recent floods and it is the need of the hour to show solidarity with the affected and displaced persons.

He assured that everyone affected by the flood is being reached and the process of restoring the infrastructure is also ongoing.
