The judge of the special court CNS (Control of Narcotics Substances) fixed October 15 for the framing charges on Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah in an alleged drug peddling case registered with Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) against him and other accused persons.
Meanwhile, the judge also fixed the same date for further arguments on another application he had already filed seeking direction to the concerned quarter to de-freeze his bank accounts.
As proceedings commenced Saturday, advocate Syed Farhad Ali Shah representing Sana Ullah submitted an application seeking exemption from personal appearance owing to his engagements. However, the court accepted the application and fixed the next date for further proceedings.
In earlier proceedings, the court had summoned the accused persons for framing charges on him on June 25.
At that time Sana’s counsel had submitted an application seeking exemption from personal appearance owing to some engagements. The judge had also directed the lawyers to come up with the next date for placing arguments on the acquittal applications submitted by the accused persons.
On July 1, 2019, Sanaullah was arrested by the ANF Lahore team while he was travelling from Faisalabad to Lahore near the Ravi Toll Plaza on the motorway, claiming to have seized 15kg of heroin from his vehicle.
