PTI refutes reports of Imran Khan escaping a 'plane accident'

Reaction comes in response to reports that former PM’s plane, en route to Gujranwala, developed some faults mid-air

Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s plane returned to Islamabad soon after the takeoff due to bad weather conditions, PTI leader Azhar Mashwani clarified on Saturday.

The clarification came in response to some media reports claiming that the former premier escaped a plane crash after it developed some technical faults mid-air as he was heading towards Punjab’s Gujranwala city to address a public gathering.

“Reports of any technical fault in the aircraft are incorrect,” the PTI leader wrote on his official Twitter handle.

Later, the PTI chairman left for Gujranwala by road, he added.

Earlier this month, a vehicle of Imran’s security convoy caught fire in Islamabad. However, the former premier remained unhurt in the incident.

The incident occurred while Imran was returning to his Bani Gala residence in the federal capital after attending a public rally in Gujrat.
