KARACHI:

The National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) on Monday completed the rehabilitation work on the Dadu-Khuzdar transmission line, and started to supply power to the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), resulting in electricity restoration to major parts of the Balochistan province.

The NTDC spokesman said that, on the directions of the prime minister, the minister and secretary for power, Managing Director NTDC Engr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan and his team remained on site, a difficult terrain, to monitor the rehabilitation work.

He added that despite multiple challenges including road inaccessibility, unavailability of heavy machinery, lack of communication services, flood water and continuous landslides, all available resources were utilized and efforts were made to complete the work

The NTDC spokesman further assured that rehabilitation work on the Sibi-Quetta transmission line was also being completed on a war footing, adding that flash floods had also caused losses to the NTDC infrastructure in some areas.
