The regional and district police officers under whom the home constituency of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi falls have been transferred.

Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad districts are considered a stronghold of the Chaudhry family. The central leaders of the PML-Q have contested elections from constituencies falling into the adjoining districts in the past.

DIG Muhammad Abid Khan of grade 20 was serving as the Gujranwala Regional Police Officer (RPO).He has been made an officer on special duty. He had been appointed to the post in May when Hamza Shehbaz was the chief minister.

He had served for several months as DIG Operations in Lahore during the rule of PTI leader Usman Buzdar.

DIG Establishment-I Munir Masood Marth has been posted as the Gujranwala RPO. Gujrat District Police Officer (DPO) Attaur Rehman was asked to report to the Central Police Office by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Faisal Shahkar.

Syed Ghazanfar Shah, who was serving as the Rawalpindi SSP Investigation, was posted as the Gujrat DPO.

Six other senior police officers, including Lahore DIG Investigations and Layyah DPO, have also been transferred.
