Eight stolen motorcycles seized in Afghan Basti raid

KARACHI:

Gulshan-e-Maymar police raided a house in the Afghan refugee camp and recovered eight stolen motorcycles.

Police said the suspect had removed the engines of the stolen bikes, to sell in bits and pieces.

Among the recovered bikes, three had been snatched from SITE Super Highway, New Karachi and Mubina Town police station jurisdiction. There is no record of the other five motorcycles in CPLC.

The case has been registered against the arrested accused, and an investigation is being carried out about his accomplices.

Police and other concerned institutions are allegedly involved in every crime in the city.

Police sources said that various police officers had ordered subordinate officers to try not to enter stolen vehicles on police control to show fewer crime records to senior officers.

They said that officers could lose their jobs if they put in writing the actual number of snatchings. Police will find it hard to explain the soaring crime rate. When reporting to their senators, the local SHOs, DSPs, SPs, and SSPs all state that everything is going good, sources in the police department said.

All crimes in the city, including illegal hydrants, possession of government or private land, illegal constructions, encroachments, sale of Gutka, Mava and narcotics, gambling, theft, robbery and street crimes, are being committed openly in Central, Korangi, West, Keamari and in the City districts.

Many honest police officers said that if the senior police officers do not take notice of these crimes immediately, then it will be difficult to control the crimes in the city, like in the limits of Sohrab Goth and SITE Super Highway police stations where police have entirely failed to prevent street crime and other illegal activities.
