CHAK JHUMRA:

A differently-abled girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a young man at gunpoint. The police registered a case and started raids to arrest the accused.

In the case filed by Muhammad Sajid, a resident of Chak 118 JB, it was stated that his 27-year-old wife, who has impaired hearing and speech, was alone at home when the accused Muhammad Sajjad allegedly broke into the house and sexually assaulted the victim at gunpoint before escaping the scene.

After registering a case, the police started raids to arrest the accused.

Women being sexually assaulted in their own homes is unfortunately not uncommon in Punjab. In December 2021, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped in her house in Khurrianwala.

According to details, the suspect forcibly entered the house and raped the victim at gunpoint. A case was registered against the suspect, identified as Shabbir Ahmed, under the provisions of 376 PPC and police were searching for the accused.

Similarly, in April of this year, the accused Abdul Rehman broke into a house in Khurrianwala and allegedly attempted to rape his former sister-in-law’s 14-year-old daughter.
