Residents asked to evacuate over 'severe flood risk'

MUZAFFARGARH:

The district administration issued a flood alert to 104 places across the district on Friday. Muzaffargarh Assistant Commissioner Syed Jameel Haider Shah directed revenue staff to immediately inform residents near the river Chenab about the severe flood risk and move them to safer places with their livestock.

The alert was issued to Jawana Bangla, Rohilanwali, Khudai, Langarsrai, Moradabad, Khanpur and other areas. The assistant commissioner said India had released 300,000 cusecs of water in River Chenab while over 100,000 cusecs of water were already flowing in the river.
