PESHAWAR:

The Peshawar police has hired a psychologist to evaluate the victims in the high-profile cases of rape and murder of girls.

According to sources, two girls were brutally killed and one was allegedly raped in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, but the police have not yet been able to arrest the accused.

Police have profiled more than 100 suspects and taken their DNA samples to arrest the accused involved in the heinous crimes.

Considering the situation, the police decided to take the help of a psychologist and an expert team of doctors from Hazara Division in the high-profile cases, who started their work and conducted a counseling session for the victim.

During the session, the team will also show some photographs to the victim so that the accused can be identified.

SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi said that a team of expert doctors will also counsel the parents of the girls.

A psychologist has been hired for the counseling of a girl allegedly raped in Peshawar’s Nothia area. A team of psychologists will also counsel the girl’s family members.

The SSP operations confirmed that two girls were killed and one was allegedly raped in Peshawar within a month.

He said that the medical report of one of the victims confirmed that she was raped, but the reports of the other two girls have not yet been received.

SSP Abbasi said that more than 100 suspects have been profiled along with their DNA samples, whose report is yet to be received.

He said that CCTV cameras were not available in two cases while the footage of one case is still being examined and forensic and FSL teams are working on it.

Abbasi said that it was too early to determine that it was the doing of one accused or a group in all the incidents.

It should be noted that in Peshawar, two girls were killed after allegedly being raped in the Saddar area within a month, but even after several days, the police were unable to catch the killers.

On July 18, a girl was allegedly raped and dumped in Kalibari area of Peshawar, while an 11-year-old girl was killed by unidentified culprits at Railway Quarters on July 4.

The police have so far failed to arrest the accused involved in both the incidents. (The names of the victims have not been mentioned to protect their identities)
