Police risk allowance up by 15%

The increase comes in pursuance of the decision of the provincial cabinet

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has increased the risk allowance for uniformed police personnel from BPS-7 to BPS-16 by 15 per cent of the 2017 initial basic pay.

The increase comes in pursuance of the decision of the provincial cabinet.

A notification issued by the K-P finance department said that the risk allowance has been increased in lieu of the disparity reduction allowance with effect from July 1, 2022.

It said that the allowance of a constable (BPS-7) has been increased from Rs5,754 to Rs7400 while the increase for head constable (BPS-9) would translate into Rs 8,000 from previous Rs6,227.

Similarly, assistant sub inspector — ranking BS-11 — would now get Rs,8600 instead of Rs 6707.

The allowance has been for sub inspector (BPS-14) has been increased from Rs 8020 to 10,300 and for inspector (BPS-16) from Rs9878 to 12,700.

The notification further said that the conditions for grant of the enhanced risk allowance would remain the same as prescribed in para-2 of Finance Department letter dated April 30, 2009.
