KARACHI:

Administrator of Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said on Thursday that the second phase of local bodies elections in Sindh has been postponed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), and not by the Pakistan Peoples Party.

"Several PPP candidates have already been elected unopposed. We are in favour of holding these elections immediately and this is what we had made clear to the Election Commission," the administrator said while addressing a news conference in the Sindh Assembly Committee Room. PPP MPA Sadia Javed and others were also present on the occasion.

Wahab said that on Wednesday evening everyone received information through the media that the second phase of LG polls in Karachi and Hyderabad divisions had been postponed.
