LAHORE:

The PML-N acknowledged the validity of the ongoing Punjab Assembly session on Thursday by sending its three MPAs recently elected in by-elections for administration of oath by Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.

The ruling and opposition parties' lawmakers had earlier held parallel sessions of the house at Aiwan-e-Iqbal and the assembly building respectively. Both sides had accused each other of holding illegal sessions.

As the PTI’s 15 MPAs elected from across Punjab in by-elections were administered oath in Punjab Assembly, PML-N’s newly elected MPAs Malik Asad Khokhar, Sibtain Raza and Fida Hussain also reached the chambers to take oath.

PML-N’s Khalil Tahir Sindhu led the party MPAs as they entered the assembly and started shouting at PTI members who were sitting on the treasury benches.

He asked in which capacity they were sitting on treasury benches. "Please stand up and go to your benches," he added. The speaker called Sindhu towards his dais and he and his colleagues sat in the hall after a discussion.

The recently elected members were praising public’ support in their constituencies for the vision of Imran Khan but the atmosphere was charged when the PML-N MPAs arrived.
