Five arrested over shopkeeper’s murder

Osama Ajmal was on his way home on June 15 when he was shot dead

Police have arrested five people in connection with the murder of a shopkeeper.

Osama Ajmal, 30, a resident of W Block in Gulistan Colony, had been on his way home on the night of June 15 when he was shot dead by two unknown motorcyclists.

According to police, Osama Ajmal’s murder was planned by his estranged sister-in-law.

The SHO of People's Colony, Muazzam Gujjar, along with his team obtained the video of the incident with the help of CCTV cameras, and when they showed the footage to the deceased's brother, he identified the accused, and then police detained Shiza.

During interrogation, the suspect told the police that she had been living with her sister, Urooj, after separating from her husband, Mansoor Ajmal. During the time of her estrangement with her husband, she developed a relationship with one Aurangzeb.

“Aurangzeb and I were dining at a restaurant when Osama Ajmal appeared from nowhere and saw the two of us together. Out of the fear [of her secret being leaked], I told [my] sister Urooj, who consulted Aurangzeb, Zeeshan and Ibrahim at her house and planned to kill Osama Ajmal and on June 15, he was killed while he was” going home, she told the police.
