Karachi and Hyderabad under strict surveillance ahead of LG polls

KARACHI:

The Sindh police chief has ordered strict vigilance and intelligence surveillance in the areas around the sensitive polling stations during the second phase of local government (LG) elections in Karachi and Hyderabad and the NA-245 by-election.

A high-level meeting was held at the Central Police Office in Karachi under the chair of IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon to review security for the second phase of LG elections and a National Assembly by-election.

He directed the Special Branch to ensure strict surveillance, recce and advanced intelligence collection process in the areas surrounding the sensitive polling stations.
