Protesting prices: ‘There is no roti, kapra aur makan’

SARGODHA: Hundreds of daily wage labourers took out a rally against skyrocketing prices and unemployment.

According to local residents, hundreds took out a rally and observed a sit-in in front of the Sargodha commissioner’s offices in the district. The protesters were chanting slogans against the government and said that they could barely afford food and shelter during the PPP’s tenure.

“The slogans of ‘roti, kapra, makan’ are a fraud. This government has taken all of those things from us,” said a protestor Altaf Shah. The protesters demanded that the government fix a special allowance for them. They said a strategy should also be devised to curb the price hike.
