A magistrate on Tuesday acquited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) lawmaker Alamgir Khan in a case of alleged seditious and provocative wall chalkings against state institutions.
The case of subversive chalking against Tehreek-e-Insaaf's resigned MNA Alamgir Khan was heard in the court of Judicial Magistrate East in Karachi City Court.
Judicial Magistrate Sharqi acquitted Tehreek-e-Insaf's resigned Member National Assembly Alamgir Khan in the case of provocative chalking, rejected the police challan and ordered the police to dismiss the case.
The court remarked that the police added provisions of treason and sedition in the challan, which cannot be imposed without the recommendation of the federal government, the home department and the provincial government.
A case of provocative wall chalking was registered against Alamgir Khan in Gulshan police station.
