HASSAN ABDAL:

The Punjab Food Authority arrested an owner of an illegal factor and seized 2,400 litres of oil prepared with dead animals offal and fat during a raid at the factory in Hassan Abdal on Wednesday.

The accused was apprehended red-handed while manufacturing ghee from dead animals' offal and fat, said Amna Bibi, the PFA official, adding that the factory was set up illegally and didn’t have a license.

A case has been registered against them. She said that the health of humans is severely harmed by such unhealthy oil. She added that this oil can only be used to make biodiesel or soap.

The official added that the crackdown would remain continued against those involved in this crime.

Villages without electricity

A number of electric supply lines have been damaged due to torrential rains and flash floods in the city, causing power outages in several areas of Hassan Abdal. However, efforts are being made to restore the lines as soon as possible, said Senior Line Superintendent Muhammad Naeem Chishti.

He was talking to the media on Wednesday. The official said that due to recent rains, electric poles have been cut off in many areas while several WAPDA poles were inundated.
