Every year, with the advent of Eidul Azha, transport fares escalate to double their original price. Similarly, this year, several transporters are excessively charging bus fares.
Unfortunately, the public has no choice but to pay double fares to travel during the Eid holidays. This year, on the eve of Eidul Azha, a very different situation could be seen. There were comparatively fewer people traveling this Eid due to skyrocketing fares of public transport.
On the condition of anonymity, some of the commuters shared that they couldn’t travel to their native areas to celebrate Eid due to high fares.
A local commuter, Adil Abbasi said that local transporters are charging extra fares in the name of ‘Eidi’ with impunity.
