Murder suspect absconding from Karachi traced in Swat
Sharah-e-Noor Jahan police arrested a murder suspect from Swat three years after he had escaped from Karachi to evade arrest.
Hiding in the mountainous region, Iqtidar Khan, remained untraceable for police in Karachi, however, the moment he activated his cellular phone around three weeks ago, the GPS location got activated simultaneously, and Bingo, police got an alert in Karachi that the wanted person is on this and this location.
The Shahrae Noor Jahan police completed the legal formalities for sending a raiding party to another province. Subsequently, on clearance from the Home Departments of Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, a police party from Shahrae Noor Jahan police station reported to the concerned precinct in Swat and hauled in the fugitive Iqtidar.

According to police, the suspect had bashed the skull of his friend with a cricket bat. As per the police report, accused had borrowed Rs50,000 cash from his friend Anwar Ali three years ago.
After that, Anwar Ali made several phone calls to get his money back, but the accused always avoided him.
On the day of the incident, Anwar Ali reached the accused's house to get his money back and called him out. Iqtidar came out in a fit of rage carrying a cricket bat with which he repeatedly struck Anwer Ali on the head.

Anwer had died on the spot, while Iqtidar had fled to Swat in K-P. He stayed on the run and in hiding until he switched his phone on and the police located him in Swat through the GPS.
Police registered a case and launched an investigation. After following all the prevailing laws, the police raided Swat and arrested the accused. Police officials added that the accused had fled Karachi after the incident.
