RAWALPINDI:

The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has issued SOPs for quick response amid monsoon rains during Eidul Azha.

The SOPs aim to keep the water supply and water sewerage system functional, to ensure uninterrupted water supply from tube wells, filtration plants, and from both Rawal and Khanpur Dams.

The authority's Flood Control Center for monsoon rains will also remain functional.

According to the SOPs issued by WASA’s Managing Director Muhammad Tanveer, all the officials (director and assistant directors) will stay active and available to ensure the proper functioning of water supply, sewerage, drainage, and filtration plants. Public concerns will be promptly addressed. The presence of the cover on the manholes will be strictly ensured. Water will be supplied through water tankers, in case the water supply system gets affected. The implementation of the working schedule will even be ensured during the Eid holidays.

According to WASA managing director, if it rains during the Eid holidays during the monsoon, then the WASA teams will ensure a quick response according to the SOPs. Directors, deputy directors, and assistant directors will carry out their tasks while supervising their teams.
