Digital marketing is an essential business technique for swift access to potential customers and growers could earn a handsome profit.
These views were expressed by speakers at the concluding ceremony of the Mango Festival held at DHA Multan on Tuesday.
The third day of the festival started with a mango dish making competition. Over 200 mango-based dishes were presented by over 30 organisations and individuals during the event.
In the seminar titled ‘Branding and Digital Marketing of Mangoes’, marketing expert Ali Iqbal gave a presentation on Digital Mango Marketing, Opportunities and Challenges.
He briefed participants on the sales, procurement, inventory management and operational issues in digital marketing.
Progressive grower, Rabia Sultan appreciated the university’s leading role in organizing training events for the farming community on different occasions. She emphasised that links with farmers should be improved through online forums and monthly Zoom sessions.
Quality assurance starts from the farm-level, she stated, adding that training is needed for post-harvest management. Additionally, small-scale on-farm pulping plants with well-trained staff and a collaborative approach are also needed.
Rabia said that training in digital marketing will dispel fears among farmers to use this advanced technology and will also provide handsome returns to farmers for their produce.
Zahid Gardezi emphasized the adoption of innovative practices in post-harvest technologies.
