QUETTA:

Political parties on Wednesday staged protest demonstrations against the recent delimitations of constituencies in Balochistan outside the Provincial Election Commission office in Quetta.

The activists and leaders of the Balochistan National Party Mengal (BNA-M) staged a protest demonstration against the delimitations in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan.

“The ECP has deprived our voters and it must review its decision about delimitations,” Malik Naseer Shahwani, the parliamentary leader of BNP Mengal said while talking to The Express Tribune.

BNP workers chanted slogans against the ECP and demanded that political parties and the people of Balochistan should be not ignored in this regard.

District members of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F), Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party, Awami National Party (ANP) and other political parties from Musakhail district also staged a protest.

“Under a pre-planned conspiracy, ECP has deprived people of Musakhail from their constituency,” Maulavi Sarwar Musakhail, the provincial leader of JUI and chief of the action committee observed.

He demanded of the ECP to review its decision and make sure formation of Musakhail as a separate constituency to address the grievances of its people.

“We want justice and ECP should have mercy on people of Musakhail,” Maulavi Sarwar added.

National Party, another mainstream Baloch nationalist party has also expressed serious concern over delimitations in Quetta.
