A child was killed and at least eight people were injured during a windstorm which hit the Peshawar valley on Thursday afternoon.
A Rescue 1122 spokesperson told The Express Tribune that a wind and dust storm hit the valley which resulted in the uprooting of trees, and collapse of roofs and mud walls. He said that women, children and men were injured in roof collapse incidents across the district who were rescued in critically injured condition and shifted to nearby hospitals.
The dust storm was so powerful that trees along the main roads were uprooted resulting in complete disruption of traffic in several parts of the city. “Dozens of wall and roof collapse incidents have been reported from across the city but in most cases people were able to escape unhurt,” he said, adding that all the injured were now out of danger and being treated at the hospitals.
