Breaking all records, Ali Sethi and Shae Gill’s popular Coke Studio track Pasoori has successfully reached Hollywood. American singer and songwriter Britney Jean Spears is apparently a fan of satisfying cooking videos and of Punjabi music. The 40-year-old singer reposted the making of a dosa from Mini Kitchen India’s Instagram. The cherry on top, she linked the groovy punjabi track in its background and has won all of South Asia’s hearts including the singer, Sethi’s.

Mini Kitchen India uses tiny utensils to create ASMR videos of Indian foods. On Sunday, Spears took to her Instagram with one of their preparation videos of a button dosa and added the Coke Studio track to it.

People immediately recognised the song and fans wrote, “Pasoori from Pakistan! “Britney Spears is now listening to Punjabi music!”

The video eventually reached the creators of this song and they flocked to Spear’s post to document their excitement. A surprised and overwhelmed Sethi commented, “Omg what!”

Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, the mastermind behind Coke Studio this year, also commented, “feels good knowing our song has reached previously unvisited/less frequented cultures, spaces and people. Love it!”

The Indian writer and comedian Varun Grover also took to the media sharing app and shared the video on his stories with the caption, “Britney Spears making button dosa to the music of Pasoori is the kind of global citizen liberals want.”

Earlier last month, Spears took to Instagram to announce the death of her ‘miracle baby,’ about a month after she revealed her pregnancy news with her husband Sam Asghari. She said she was going through a devastating time and perhaps she should have waited to announce her pregnancy.

On November 13, the Baby One More Time singer regained control of her personal life and her money when a judge ended a 13-year conservatorship that became a cause celebre for fans and critics of an arrangement typically meant to protect the elderly.

“Effective today, the conservatorship of the person and the estate of Britney Jean Spears is hereby terminated,” Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny said after a 30-minute hearing in which no one opposed ending the court-sanctioned arrangement.
