Federal Minister for Power Khurram Dastgir Khan has said that energy conservation is the need of the hour during these testing times for the national economy and the potential of energy conservation has not been fully realised in the past.
Chairing a session on energy conservation measures to resolve the current energy crisis, the minister said that although Pakistan had sufficient capacity to deal with the demand-supply gap in the power sector, “we do not have financial resources to make capacity additions based on costly imported fuel.”
He emphasised that the deployment of energy-efficient technologies, processes and systems across various sectors of the economy would lead to energy conservation.
