The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has become the first provincial revenue collecting agency that has crossed the Rs150 billion mark. According to provisional figures, the PRA collected Rs14.22 billion during May 2022, a growth of 23% over the collection of Rs11.6 billion in May 2021, bringing its total collection for the first 11 months of current financial year to Rs153 billion. According to a PRA spokesperson, the revenue figure is expected to rise further once the civil accounts are finalised. “This extraordinary performance all but ensures that the PRA is going to surpass its assigned revenue target of Rs155.9 billion,” said the spokesperson in a statement. “This will be the third year in a row when the PRA is surpassing the revenue target.” PRA chairman said that the increase in revenue collection had been made possible by the hard work of every member of the PRA team, who worked with integrity, professionalism and determination.
