PM Shehbaz to embark on three-day visit to Turkey tomorrow

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would embark on a three-day official visit to Turkey on Tuesday to further boost friendly ties with Ankara.

The visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The premier's visit is aimed at enhancing cooperation with Turkey in diverse fields including trade, investment, health, education and technology sectors.

During PM Shehbaz's stay in Ankara, he would hold meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and ministers of foreign affairs, health, trade and economic cooperation.

Shehbaz would also hold meetings with Turkish investors and the Pakistan-Turkey Business Forum.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that PM Shehbaz's visit to Turkey was a part of a series of Pakistan's renewed bilateral engagements with its traditional trusted friends and brotherly countries.

"The visit is important not only for the development of bilateral relations but also for cooperation in investment, trade, health, education, culture and other areas of mutual interest," the information minister said in a tweet.

She added that the visit would mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. PM Shehbaz would also unveil a commemorative plaque in this regard.

The prime minister would also visit the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
