Pakistani mountaineers Sirbaz Khan and Shehroze Kashif summited Nepal's Mount Makalu on Saturday, making Shehroze the youngest climber in the world to have summited five of the tallest mountains of the world.
Shehroze, a 20-year-old from Lahore and Sirbaz of Gilgit have now submitted seven and 11 eight-thousanders respectively.
According to the Alpine Club of Pakistan, Shehroze has scaled three of the peaks in just 23 days while Sarbaz has set the national record for summiting the highest number of peaks which are higher than eight thousand metres.
Standing at 8,485 metres, Mount Makalu is the fifth-highest peak in the world.
Shehroze summited the mountain just before 7 am and Sirbaz shortly after at 8 am (local time), according to a Facebook post by the Alpine Club of Pakistan.
Khan aims to scale fourteen of the world's tallest peaks and prefers to do so without using oxygen.
