Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday warned former prime minister Imran Khan against creating a law and order problem in the federal capital during the planned long march, saying the law will take its course against those doing so.

"Law will take its course against Imran Niazi if he attempts to be the gravedigger of democracy during the march," Sanaullah said.

Mocking the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, the federal minister said he who destroyed the country's economy is now taking to the streets to put a halt to its recovery, Express News reported.

Sanaullah, who is also a senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N, vowed to not let such "efforts" succeed, saying that no mob acts or hooliganism would be tolerated during the planned political activity.

"Imran Niazi is a liar, and chaos and unrest are embedded in him and in what he says," the interior minister said. "No one trusts U-turn Niazi anymore."

A day earlier, deposed premier Imran Khan announced that his party would kick off its much-hyped long march against the “imported government” to the federal capital on May 25.

Addressing a presser, he had listed immediate dissolution of assemblies and announcement of a date for the next general election as the main demands of his party.

The PTI chief was ousted from power last month by Parliament following a no-trust voting against him. Ever since his ouster, Imran claims that the voting was a result of a foreign plot hatched against him for pursuing an independent foreign policy.

Parvez ali | 2 years ago | Reply Long March Imran Khan was removed from power following a Constitutional vote of No confidence which he says was a conspiracy and today he alleged that Ome Million Dollars were paid to each dissident etc. He ught to learn from the Australian Prime minister who conceded defeat even before the election results were announced. He lost power after three terms. He staged no protest-that is democracy. As for his long march the government ought to let them come and wander. People of Moses wandered in the desert of Sina for forty years. IK staged his dharna for months-what did he avail. It is good that the Government has decided to stand on its feet and announce completion of its term and elections to be held in August 2023. Regards Parvez ali
